The Friends of Lawnswood Cemetery was established in October 2011 by a group of like minded people whose aim is to protect, promote and preserve the cemetery for future generations.
The original Victorian section, opened in 1876, consists of a 10 acre site which commemorates some of the most distinguished people in the development of the City of Leeds, and is therefore an important historical resource.
The cemetery has expanded over the years and now covers over 65 acres. It is presently closed for burials but still has a working crematorium.
Please take a little time to browse our site and if you feel you can help in any way or have any observations then please contact us for further information.
